With this weekend being Halloween and hospital classes, I didn't get around to updating the blog on Saturday. We had a really great weekend, though...in spite of being so busy! Saturday we went to "Saturday Blitz" at the hospital where I learned how to "breath in the relaxing colors of blue and green, while breathing out the harsh, stressful colors of red and orange..." Yep, Lamaze is one big laugh. But, we got a tour of the hospital and learned about all the accommodations the hospital provides (like giant jacuzzi tubs in each room)! I'm glad we went. One of our friends at church used to work at the hospital with a midwife, she said she would come over and answer additional questions and talk about some of the more reality stuff they don't tell you about in classes. It's so wonderful having such a great support system of people here!
Yesterday we went over to our friends' house for a Halloween caramel apple party. They live in a neighborhood where trick-or-treating is a huge event. We're talking like shuts down entire streets for the kids to go house to house. It was lots of fun watching all the kids come to the door in their costumes. Here's the Miller family celebrating Halloween with our babe together! (Next year we'll have a 10 mos. old!!)
Can anyone guess what Nate's costume is?
We're going in this week for our next baby check up. I went today for the gestational diabetes blood test. No matter how many times I go through it, I hate hate HATE being pricked in the arm.
Here's something that happened to me today and thought it was funny enough to share...
I come back from a meeting at school today to find this gift on my desk... while other teachers get swarmed by candy, gift cards, etc....my students are way more thoughtful and creative!! Check it out...
Please notice how I'm pregnant in every picture. And while she didn't know Nate's name, wanted to make sure he knew that he was highlighted by a different color. "Mrs. Miller and bady, Dad!!!??? I love you happy" That's me dreaming in a thought bubble about my family (Nate and the dogs with the baby in my belly, wishing Nate would say "I love you") ...her words, not mine. She wanted people to know that it was my shirt so she wrote my initials on the sleeve ("you know, because your sign name - AM- you know") again, her words...
The back: I love you love!!! Your I our baby sleep house you. Miller, baby and Dad. I love you (students' names) see your baby happy. The pictures are of the students are all bringing me gifts for the baby in my belly. The second line is just the boys bringing me gifts (they had to give 2 because they didn't help to make the shirt) ... again her words, not mine. The squiggly lines on the right of the shirt are to represent the party happening at school. Then, that's me laying in the hospital bed watching T.V. (because that's what you do in the hospital when the baby is born) and there are fireworks, rainbows and pretty flowers growing outside.
Yep...completely awesome! I'm afraid to wash it because I'm sure she used Crayola markers, but I'm afraid to wear it before washing... catch 22.

How sweet is that shirt! So cool. :) The only guess I have for Nate's costume is Linus maybe? (and you would be the great pumpkin. :)) Isn't the sugar drink for the diabetes test great? I actually had to go back for the second test with Noah. It wasn't that great, although it was nice having a nice 3 hours of quiet time to myself. lol :) Hope the appointment goes wonderfully! Love you guys and can't wait to see you!!
