Busy Busy Busy...

This last week, we had an awesome week ...Collin and Leah came to visit us!!! We loved having them here with us!! Nate and I both had to work all week (boo), but we took off one day to just have a day together. Nate and I both asked if they would come into speak at our schools. Collin and Leah came to Hall to meet the deaf ed kiddos and show pictures of where Collin was in Afghanistan and then get the kids in shape through a rigorous "boot camp!" :) Last year for Valentine's Day, we sent Collin a big banner we made and each of the students signed. Then, when he received the package, he took a picture with the banner and some of the other military guys there and emailed me a copy so I could show the students. The kids loved meeting him and are still talking about the giant camel spider that can grow to be "THIS BIG MILLER (with arms stretched out wide)!"  Then the following day, they visited Nate's high school and spoke to the nursing and leadership classes. I hear it was a big hit! Collin and Leah brought their two labs Gracie and Callie with them for the visit! It was so much fun! They all played nicely together. We went to the beach and dog park together and even little Murph kept up with the big dogs running through the waves, exploring the beach, and marking every tree, water fountain, bush, and any other stationary object at the dog park. Collin and Leah, you're welcome back anytime!

I can't remember if I blogged about Nate's acceptance into the Aspiring Leaders Program in our district or not. But anyways, he applied and was accepted into this program and it's basically the district's internal recruitment for administration positions! He will have face-to-face time with the Superintendent and Directors of Secondary Schools. Throughout the program, he will have interviews with these people and they will talk with him about his goals for his career and what positions they see as being the best fit for him in the district. This past week he went to the Meet and Greet and came back very encouraged and excited to continue in the program! They have six meetings throughout the year and a project at the end of the program....all on top of the Masters coursework he's completing each week. Pray for strength and grace for him as he explores if this is an avenue God will open doors to in the future. :)

I've been hard at work in the nursery! Today we went and bought the letters for the alphabet boarder in the room. I painted all the letters and left them to dry...

We also ordered our stroller off Ebay and it came in the mail this week! Several of our friends have recommended the Phil and Teds strollers. We got their newest model, the Explorer. We're so excited!

Collin and Leah surprised us with the car seat (and some other goodies too)!! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!

Now we just need to get the car seat adapter for the stroller to make it a travel system. When we get it, the combo will look something like this:

This morning, OneLife had an outreach to the Boys and Girls Harbor which is a home for children who have been abused, neglected or abandoned. The kids (ages 5-18) stay on grounds in cottages with house parents. The church organized landscaping, building/grounds repair, games for the kids, bounce houses, and lunch for all of the kids and the staff there. What a blessing to meet some of these kids and love on them! I am really excited about the opportunity to continue to bless them and show them love!

We missed last week's belly pictures...apparently the belly has grown a lot in the past week...or so I've been told...by everyone I meet. :)

We go in for the 6 month check up on Thursday. Nate's trying to schedule our "Saturday Blitz" classes at the hospital. A whole day of birthing, laboring, baby care classes and a hospital tour. We keep forgetting to register since they don't have an online option. It's amazing how much we rely on technology for our schedule keeping! Having to stop by the hospital or call them on the phone just seems like such an inconvenience! :)

Ok, well I'm off to bed in hopes that since the baby is still at the moment, he'll stay still long enough for me to fall asleep. :) One these times, I'm going to catch the little man's yoga session on video so you all can enjoy the contortions my belly makes. But for now...what's that great advice I keep hearing? "Sleep while the baby sleeps...." I'm acting on it! Love you all!
